Children of all ages can enjoy slides, obstacle courses, bungee walls, moon bounces and other rides. All day wristbands or individual tickets for the Kids Zone will be available for purchase at the festival.

The YMCA Pumpkin Fest 5K Race & Fun Run/Walk
The 2011 Pumpkin Fest will start off with a bang – as the annual fall YMCA Pumpkin Fest 5K Race gets things going early in Downtown Statesville on Saturday, November 5. The one-mile fun run and 5K road race will be begins and finishes at Mitchell Community College, starting at 8:30 a.m. with the one-mile fun run. Group Walkers are welcome and the cost is $10 per participant. Registration is from 7:30-8:15 a.m. at Mitchell Community College. The 5K race starts at 9 a.m. Registration is $20 per person. Touch-A-Truck by the City of Statesville
Statesville City trucks can be seen all over town, but how often does anyone get to look inside any of these unusual vehicles and get to talk to someone who operates them? The City ofStatesvilleis proud to present “Touch-A-Truck” on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the annual Pumpkin Fest inDowntown Statesville. We’ll be there with lots of City vehicles the children can climb on. It’s free! Parent supervision is required and cameras are highly recommended!
Chalk Art Contest sponsored by the Iredell Arts Council
The 1st Annual Chalk Art Contest sponsored by the Iredell Arts Council will be held during Pumpkin Fest onMeeting Street (between Broad and Court Streets). Registration opens on October 24th and runs through the day of Pumpkin Fest. Call IAC at 704-873-6100 or stop by to fill out a registration form. The contest will have five categories (Child, Teen, Adult, Business and Artist). At least one prize per category will be awarded. Plots may be shared by up to 4 people. Children’s fee is $20 per plot, teen fee is $30 per plot, adult fee is $40, and business/artist fee is $50. Registration must be paid before chalk is distributed. Rules will be on the Registration Form and will include disqualification if inappropriate images or profanity are used. Drawings can begin at 10 am and should conclude by 3 pm for judging. Registrants need not be present to win. All proceeds from the Chalk Art Contest will benefit Iredell Arts Council Handicapped Accessibility Fund.
Pumpkin Fest Cornhole Classic Tournament
The 3rd Annual Statesville Pumpkin Fest Cornhole Classic Tournament which will take place during the festival on Saturday, November 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Downtown Statesville. For those of you not familiar with the game, baggo, corn toss, bean bags or cornhole (as it is most commonly called) is an increasingly popular game where players toss a one-pound bag filled with corn at a sloped box with a hole at one end. Points are awarded either by tossing the bag into the hole for 3 points, or if the bag stays on top of the box, the player earns 1 point. The first team/individual to score 21 points wins the game. The entry fee is $50 per two-man team with a maximum of 32 teams participating in the tournament. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top four teams. Rules and regulations will be posted at the tournament site which is within the boundaries of the Statesville Pumpkin Fest.
